Quartz is not stone in the usual sense

Engineered quartz is mostly crushed quartz held together with resin. The factory gives it a polish that resists stains well, so it does not need the sealing routine that marble does. The resin is also its weak point: heat and strong chemicals can mark it.

That means polishing quartz is a limited job. We can often improve light scratches and dull patches, but we cannot always remove a burn or a deep chip. We tell you what is realistic before we start, and we use low speed and low heat to protect the resin.

Can a burn mark be removed?

Sometimes it can be reduced, but a heat mark in the resin may not fully go. Check it with us first.

Does quartz etch like marble?

No. Normal food acids do not etch it, but strong chemicals and bleach can damage the surface.

How should I clean quartz?

Use a soft cloth, warm water and mild soap. Avoid abrasive pads.
